AAU students visits WAM Agency to view the work mechanism
In collaboration with National Media Council, The Deanship of Student Affairs in Al Ain University –Abu Dhabi Campus- organized a student’s visit to Emirates News Agency for the students of College of Mass Communication and Media, accompanied with the academic staff, where this visit comes in order of AAU’s efforts to integrate students with practical reality and its keenness to cooperate with various institutions in the country.
Through the visit, the students watched a presentation about WAM's development stages since its inception, then they toured in the central editorial departments to know more about Arabic and English Editing, they also visited the digital media section to identify the methods of sending pictures, media monitoring and correspondents, as well as identifying working methods of reports, investigations, and archives. Students were briefed on news coverage, photo editing, reporting, and new digital applications. Students have also learned about the news coverage mechanism, photo editing, reporting, and new digital applications.
At the end of the visit, there was a panel discussion between the students and agency’s staff, expressing their admiration for the Agency's work system and its digital platforms to keep up with the latest developments in the field of media work at the local and international levels.
