HE Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi visits Al Ain University and commends the role of academic institutions in empowering the nation’s youth.

Al Ain University – Abu Dhabi Campus received His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, along with his accompanying delegation, during an official visit to review the University’s academic journey and achievements and explore ways to enhance cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

His Excellency was welcomed by Dr. Noor Al Deen Atatreh, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees, during which the University’s vision and mission in preparing qualified national cadres were reviewed, as well as its role in supporting the higher education and scientific research ecosystem, in line with the UAE’s directions toward sustainable economic development and strengthening the competitiveness of the national economy.

The two sides discussed avenues to strengthen cooperation, build capacity, exchange expertise, organize joint initiatives, and align academic outputs with labor market needs, in support of the UAE’s foreign trade and its strategy of openness to the world. The discussions also addressed supporting initiatives that foster innovation and entrepreneurship among students, and enhancing effective partnerships between academic institutions and the trade and economic sectors.

During the visit, His Excellency Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi was briefed on the University’s key achievements, accredited academic programs, infrastructure development, its standing in local and international rankings and accreditations, and its role in serving the community.

His Excellency affirmed that national universities are key partners in supporting economic development by preparing graduates with the competencies needed to meet labor market requirements and by strengthening research and innovation in vital sectors. He commended Al Ain University’s role in developing high-quality academic programs that help graduates qualify and equip them with the skills required to meet the demands of local and global labor markets.

For his part, Dr. Noor Al Deen Atatreh expressed his appreciation for the visit, emphasizing Al Ain University’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with government entities and national institutions, to align higher education outcomes with the needs of vital sectors, support scientific research and innovation, and empower students to play an active role in the comprehensive development process.

The visit concluded with a tour of the University’s facilities, during which His Excellency toured classrooms, advanced laboratories, the virtual trading room, and the modern infrastructure, commending the educational environment provided by Al Ain University and the academic progress he observed, which promotes a culture of innovation and excellence and contributes to preparing a generation capable of meeting future challenges.
