“Innovate Your Heritage Game” Hackathon Revives the Spirit of Emirati Traditional Games
The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at Abu Dhabi Campus, with the support of Sandooq Al Watan, organized the “Innovate Your Heritage Game” Hackathon, which aimed to revive traditional Emirati games in a modern style combining technology and creativity.
University students participated by designing digital games inspired by Emirati heritage using advanced technologies such as augmented reality and artificial intelligence. The competition resulted in three winning projects: 3D Pearl Adventure, Teela Quest, and Palm Farm.
A jury of experts, academics, and representatives from Sandooq Al Watan and Al Ain University evaluated the projects based on creativity, authenticity, and sustainability. Sandooq Al Watan awarded each of the three winning teams, in recognition of their innovative efforts to preserve Emirati heritage through technology.
