Research Interests

joined the College of Communication and Media in January 2019, having previously worked at Azzaytuna University (2003-06), Tripoli University (2002-06), Misurata University (2004-06) and De Montford University, UK (2017). I completed my PhD at the University of Leicester, UK (2008-2013). Across my teaching career I have taught on a variety of full-time, part-time (undergraduate, postgraduate). I have also contributed to the expansion and development of the media department particularly with regard to modules and stylus.

In terms of research, in recent years, I have conducted, individually and collaboratively, research on an international level including participating in national and international conferences and festivals, and I have published several peer-reviewed journal articles, books and book chapters in the field of Media and Communications Studies, the InternetPublic Relations and Social Media. Some of his papers include research on news consumption including BBC News Channel, Al Arabiya TV news and Al-Jazeera TV news. Therefore, my research profile and publications are complemented by an interest in studying young adults’ consumption of news, which may attract increased academic and broader interest in the medium term. I have reviewed PR book proposals for various publishers, and acted as a referee for peer-reviewed journals in several publications.
